Every score we generate is backed by real signal analysis β no guessing, no black boxes. Here's exactly how we measure, where we operate, and what our clients say.
Your AI Authority Score is built from real signal pillars. Each pillar examines a different layer of your brand's digital presence β the way AI models like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity discover and cite sources.
We fetch your homepage live and analyze it for Schema.org structured data, JSON-LD markup, Open Graph tags, canonical URLs, Twitter card tags, and active response codes. Being online alone scores low β it takes real technical signals.
Up to ~5 pointsAI models trust brands cited by other trusted sources. We scan for Crunchbase, LinkedIn, G2, Clutch, Trustpilot, Capterra, and ProductHunt references β plus press sections, awards, case studies, and client trust indicators on your homepage.
Up to ~20 pointsTLD authority matters β .edu and .gov score highest (+4 each), followed by standard extensions like .com, .org, and .io. Short domain names signal an established brand. Hyphens and numbers reduce confidence.
Up to ~6 pointsWe query the Wikipedia REST API directly for your brand name. A confirmed Wikipedia page with a standard or disambiguation entry is the single highest-impact signal β AI models treat Wikipedia as ground truth for brand existence.
+20 pointsWe call Google's Knowledge Graph Search API to check if your brand is recognized as an Organization entity. The score scales with your Knowledge Graph result score β high-confidence entities earn the full 15 points.
Up to +15 pointsFor globally recognized brands (Google, Apple, BBC, OpenAI, etc.) we use a curated verified database β bypassing live analysis entirely for instant, accurate results. Subdomains of known brands receive a small deduction.
Direct score 80β99Your domain exists but has no established presence. No Wikipedia page, no Knowledge Graph entry, minimal third-party citations. AI models are unlikely to cite you. This is where most new sites start.
Your brand is in our verified database (Google, Apple, BBC, OpenAI, etc.). AI models actively cite you. Score reflects your real-world authority level with small per-platform variation applied.
Scores between ~11β79 require earning a Wikipedia page and/or Google Knowledge Graph listing. These two signals alone add up to 35 points and are the primary route to breaking out of the 3β10 range.
These steps directly move your score. Start from the top β the first two alone are worth up to 35 points.
The single highest-impact action β worth 20 points alone. Earn media coverage first (3β5 notable published articles), then create or request a Wikipedia page. Our system checks the Wikipedia REST API directly, so a confirmed page is an instant +20.
+20 pointsWorth up to 15 points. Go to Google Search Console, search your brand, and click "Claim this knowledge panel." Add your logo, description, and social profiles. A high Knowledge Graph result score (>1000) earns the full 15 points.
Up to +15 pointsAdd Organization schema markup to your homepage <head>. Our checker scans for both "schema.org" in the HTML (+3) and an application/ld+json script block (+2). This 30-minute task is worth 5 points directly.
+5 pointsEach listing found on your homepage earns +2 points. Create free profiles on Crunchbase, G2, Clutch, Trustpilot, Capterra, and ProductHunt β then link to them from your homepage so our scanner can detect them.
+2 per listing (up to +14)Publish case studies on your website (+4) and add a "Trusted by" or "Our clients" section with logos (+4). Our scanner checks homepage text for these exact phrases β both together are worth 8 points.
+8 pointsAdd a press or newsroom page and link to it from your homepage. Our scanner detects "press", "media", or "newsroom" text on your homepage for +3 points. Combined with awards/recognition mentions, that's up to +6 points.
+3 pointsAdd og:title, og:description, and twitter:card meta tags to your homepage. Each tag is checked individually β all three together add +3 points. These also improve how your brand appears in social sharing and AI scraping.
+3 pointsActive MX records (email infrastructure) earn +1 point. More importantly, our system requires valid DNS before scoring at all β a domain with no DNS records returns an error, not a score. Keep your DNS healthy.
